This web page is based upon my experience in the saltwater reef aquarium hobby. It will feature my tanks from the past, present, and future. I hope, in time, to build this page into a reference location for saltwater hobbyists.
Who am I?
In short, I am Drew. I go by Plyr58 over on ReefCentral. I got into the hobby years ago and have been learning as I go ever since. I am in my last year of law school and have worked part time for the last two years in a Local Fish Store, both as a salesperson and as a service technician. Recently, I have left sales behind and am doing exclusively what I love, which means I have my hands in saltwater pretty much all the time.
What is that Reef Keeper Elite you keep referring to?
The Reef Keeper Elite (RKE) is a computerized control module for my aquarium. It is programmed to control basically every aspect of my tank. It turns lights on and off at certain times, controls pumps while I feed, and basically will do any and everything else you can imagine. The NET module will interface its monitoring capabilities with a web page via RSS, and I plan to utilize this functionality to have a page of my tank’s vital statics and status of everything the RKE controls available as soon as I receive the module and figure out how to set it up.
This page is very much a work in progress so please forgive the mess. I plan on posting pictures of both full tank shots and macros soon. Stay tuned!
