The RKM-NET How to

So, I have been fighting with my new Reef Keeper Elite NET module for several days now. I have (hopefully) finally gotten it setup properly. So, in the hopes of saving everyone some headaches, I am going to post how I got my NET module working. I am assuming you have already flashed the 1.10 firmware. I do not claim to be an expert on this stuff, but I hope to help out if I can.
Step 1.
Head over to the DD-WRT wiki which lays out the process of flashing their free Linux-based firmware onto your router. I flashed a WRT54G. Th eprocess took about 5 mins. NOTE: the DD-WRT site warns that bricking your hardware is possible, so do so at your own risk.
Alternatively, you can purchase a stock wireless bridge/gaming adaptor at your friendly neighborhood big box store.
Step 2.
Once you have flashed your router to the new firmware, enter the IP of your new bridge (mine was 192.168.1.2) into the browser of Firefox, IE, or Safari. Enter the default user name and password. Click on the Wireless tab and the Basic Settings subtab. Select Client Bridge as the Wireless Mode, Mixed as the Wireless Network Mode (if you have a combination of N, G, and B devices), and your wireless network name. Apply the settings.
Enter your wireless security information for your network in the Wireless Security Subtab. Apply.
Step 3.
Connect your new NET module to your new wireless bridge. Follow the instructions for setting up the Net module provided by Digital Aquatics. Go to the Network tab and click the check box to disable DHCP on the NET module. Note the IP address of your NET module.
Step 4.
Enter your router’s IP into your browser (mine was 192.168.1.1). Find where you can set Static IPs and enter the IP of your NET module here. Apply the setting. Then, forward port 80 requests to the IP of your NET module. Apply. If your ISP blocks port 80 requests you will have to investigate port forwarding. I didn’t have this issue so I can’t help you there.
Step 5.
Find out if you have a static IP issued by your internet provider. If you do, you should be all set. If not, go to no-ip.com and set up an account. You then then link to or point to your RSS feed at the http://the_n0_ip_address/rss/rss.xml.
Step 6.
Check your setup. Try to access your Net module from your netowrk and from another network. If you can access it from both, you are all set.

Do you need to flash your router for this to work? I was just thinking of using a game portal for my bridge, and my wireless-g router.

Yes. I had to flash the router with DD-WRT. However, you can certainly use the wireless gaming bridge connected to your router. This setup will work great as well.!
